We
Value...
Abiding in
Christ:
We are to live so
connected with Christ that He provides our life-giving nourishment.
He is the source of our energy, strength and motivation which comes
from a growing intimacy with Jesus Christ and submission to the Holy
Spirit. Jesus invites us into an intimate relationship with
Him that is beyond definition.
John 15:1-11;
1 John 4:15; Colossian 2:6-7; Galatians 5:22-25
The Word of
God:
God has given us
the Scriptures to be studied and applied so that our lives will be
continually transformed into His likeness. The Bible is the
inerrant word of God and our supreme authority in all matters of
faith and conduct.
Psalm
119:105-106; John 14:21; 2 Peter 1:21
Prayer:
We believe prayer
is essential in our relationship with God and for our participation
in God's work. Our Heavenly Father desires for us to seek Him
with trust and thanksgiving, in all life's experiences.
Proverbs
3:5-6; John 15:7-8; Ephesians 6:18-19; Philippians 4:4-7; James
5:13-16
Unity:
By God's divine
plan we have been brought together with an amazing variety of
personalities, gifts, cultures, nationalities, histories and ages,
yet united in Christ. Our mission is to reveal God's glory
through our love for God and for one another.
John
17:20-23; Ephesians 4:1-7; Philippians 2:1-8
Loving the
Lost:
God loves people
whether they love back or not. We will love, accept and
forgive as did Christ. As the Spirit gives us opportunities,
we will individually and corporately, share the good news of Jesus.
Matthew
5:13-16; 43-47; Mark 10:44; Colossians 4:2-6; 1 Timothy 2:3-6; 2
Peter 3:9
Spiritual
Growth:
Our faith
continues to develop; we all are on a divine journey. As
Jesus' disciples, we are commanded to be conformed to the image of
Christ.
Matthew
28:19-20; Romans 8:29; Ephesians 3:14-21; Philippians 3;13-14
Relevance:
While the gospel
message of Jesus Christ remains unchanged, methods often vary for it
to be communicated effectively in a changing world. We remain
open to innovation sent to the church by the Holy Spirit of God for
the sake of Kingdom growth.
Mark 2:21-22;
1 Corinthians 9:19-22; Hebrews 13:8
The
Supernatural Power of the Holy Spirit:
As Jesus'
followers, we are indwelt by God's Spirit in order to relate to Him
and be empowered by Him. We are each given unique gifts for
specific roles resulting in the unity and growth of the Church.
1 Corinthians
12:2-7; Galatians 5:16-25; Ephesians 4:11-16
Lifestyle
Worship:
We were created
to live for something larger than ourselves, to humbly submit to the
God of the universe in every area of our lives, at all times.
We will worship our King, not styles, methods nor personalities.
Deuteronomy
6:1-7; Matthew 22:37; John 4:20-24; Romans 21:1; James 1:27
Relationships:
We believe
participation and connection in various smaller communities is an
important part of spiritual growth where we can study the Bible, be
challenged and encouraged in our spiritual journeys.
